Leave the resort behind for an evening and join us for an authentic Bedouin Dinner Marsa Alam experience in the heart of the Eastern Desert. As the sun begins to set, we’ll take you on a fun 4×4 journey across the dunes to a traditional Bedouin village. The welcome is always warm, and the atmosphere is genuinely peaceful. You’ll see how the Bedouin people have lived for centuries, try their freshly baked bread, and sip on sweet, minty tea as your dinner is grilled over an open flame. It’s a simple, beautiful evening that connects you with the soul of the desert.
Your evening adventure takes you from your hotel deep into the desert for a memorable night of culture, food, and astronomy.
Our adventure begins in the afternoon when our driver picks you up from your Marsa Alam hotel in a comfortable 4x4. We'll leave the main road behind and head into the desert. You’ll feel the excitement build as we navigate the dunes and valleys, with the setting sun painting the sky in incredible colours.
As dusk settles, we arrive at a welcoming Bedouin village. The camp is lit by lanterns and campfires, creating a wonderfully calm atmosphere. You'll be greeted with traditional Bedouin tea and get a chance to see how the locals live, bake their bread, and share stories. It’s a real and respectful look into their culture.
Now for the main event! You’ll sit down to a delicious, freshly prepared buffet dinner. The menu features grilled chicken and meats, flavourful rice, salads, and local vegetable dishes. Everything is cooked right there at the camp. This is simple, hearty food at its best, enjoyed under the stars.
After dinner, the energy picks up with a live performance of traditional music and folkloric dance. The performers share their culture through vibrant sounds and movements. It’s a fantastic and entertaining part of the evening that everyone enjoys.
With the camp lights dimmed, the desert sky truly comes alive. Our astronomy guide will set up a powerful telescope and show you planets, distant galaxies, and the Milky Way. Away from any city lights, the view is just spectacular. The guide makes it easy to understand what you're seeing, making this a highlight of your Bedouin Dinner Marsa Alam.
With memories of an amazing evening, we'll make the journey back through the quiet desert. You'll be dropped off right at your hotel lobby, relaxed and ready for a good night's sleep.
What should I wear for this desert dinner tour?
We suggest comfortable, casual clothes and closed-toe shoes. It's a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater, as the desert gets cooler in the evening. A scarf can also be useful for the 4x4 ride.
Is the Bedouin Dinner Marsa Alam suitable for families with children?
Absolutely! This tour is a favourite for families. The 4x4 ride is fun, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the stargazing is exciting for all ages. It's a safe and easy-going experience with no strenuous activity.
How long does the entire experience last?
The tour usually lasts about 5 to 6 hours in total. This includes pickup from your hotel in the afternoon and drop-off later in the evening.
What kind of food is served at the dinner?
You'll enjoy a traditional buffet-style meal. Expect grilled chicken and kofta, rice, potatoes, fresh salads, and local bread, all prepared fresh at the camp. It’s a key part of the authentic Bedouin Dinner Marsa Alam experience.
What happens if the weather is cloudy and we can't see the stars?
Clear skies are very common in the Marsa Alam desert, but we can't control the weather. The rest of the tour—the 4x4 safari, dinner, and show—will still go ahead and is a wonderful experience on its own.
Is there an option for a camel ride?
Yes, you'll have the option to take a short camel ride at the Bedouin camp. This is an optional extra and can be paid for directly at the camp.
